About UsDairy Cottage and the Cowshed are both level access, single storey disabled friendly holiday cottages on a beef and arable farm in the peaceful Sussex Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Both properties are entirely separate and not overlooked.
These sympathetically converted farm buildings are furnished to a high standard and have been planned to cater for both able and disabled guests.
The properties lie in peaceful surroundings yet are only a 3-minute walk from the local pub serving good traditional food.
Dairy Cottage has splendid rural views while the Cowshed overlooks a large fenced pond with ducks and moorhens.
BedroomsThe Dairy - sleeps 4
The double bedroom has an en-suite shower, toilet and basin and the twin bedroom has a wide doorway and two single electric adjustable beds. Next door is a large wet floor shower room with grab rails and seating.
The Cowshed - sleeps 4
One of the two bedrooms has a king size bed with large adjoining wet room shower, toilet and basin. The other bedroom has twin beds and a large wet floor shower room, fitted with grab rails etc., with toilet and basin en-suite (both shower rooms have wide doors and are suitable for wheelchair users).
Living AreaThe lounge/dining room, in both properties, has a TV with Freeview, DVD, free Wifi and a two-seater sofa with two Parker Knoll easy chairs. There is oil fired under-floor heating throughout.
KitchenThere is a fitted kitchen area that includes electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/drier (dishwasher in Cowshed).
GardensA lawned area with furniture and ample parking in the front.
AttractionsBodle Street Green is about 6 miles from the historic town of Battle and the sandy coast at Pevensey Bay in 1066 Country.
The area is rich in places to visit including Bodium, Hever and Pevensey castles. Herstmonceux Castle and Science Centre, Drusillas Zoo Park, Batemans House and gardens (the former home of Rudyard Kipling), many National Trust and English Heritage properties and beautiful gardens as well as the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton.
Normans Bay is only 15 minutes away, and Glyndebourne is a 25-minute drive. The area has an abundance of small museums and numerous places of interest.
There are many local walks, as well as the trails over the South Downs, and coarse fishing is available in season.
