Welcome to the Good Access Guide Newsletter for March 2009

First of all I must apologise for the long gap since my last e-mail to you.

Since the start of the year it's been really hectic here at GAG HQ. There has been a great deal happening and, now that I've got a few minutes spare, I thought I'd bring you up to date with all our news...

TTG Disabled Mystery Shopper

Good Access Guide highlights problems in the travel industry

Wendy Takman, our training consultant, has highlighted the glaring inadequacies in the travel industry when disabled customers try to book accessible holidays. Wendy approached the Travel Trade Gazette (TTG), the main holiday industry publication, to see if they would try a twist on their usual Mystery Shopper article - use a disabled mystery shopper.

The TTG took onboard our concerns about the travel industry and we were able to try the idea in Norwich.

More and more businesses turn to online advertising

I wouldn't mind betting you are sick to death of hearing about the Credit Crunch, the banking crisis and all the other economic gloom and doom - I know I am!

But we've recognised that everyone is having to tighten their belt. And because of this we have introduced a range of new advertising options, designed to suit any budget - starting from just £19.95+VAT for a whole year.

We're also finding that businesses are turning their backs on traditional print advertising because of it's relatively high costs and limited circulation. Increasingly, businesses are spending their advertising budgets with websites that can give them exposure to a wider audience.

We've reached a milestone...

There are now more than 3000 businesses listed on the Good Access Guide website.

We are now listing Hoseasons cottages, parks and lodges, Ramada Jarvis and Intercontinental hotels as well as many more privately owned accessible holiday accommodation.

More businesses are added to the Good Access Guide on an almost daily basis. If you know of any business that you think should be listed, drop us a line to jo@goodaccessguide.co.uk.
